Personally I usually don’t set out to produce art about one subject or another and it is rarely a conscious decision to what will be my next exploration. I am never without a sketchbook and digital camera and I always try to see at the macro level for small shapes, patterns, and details that will fuel a creative spark. Often times these sketches and photos are abandoned for a more prevailing concept but it is this process of a concept’s birth, development, routine death, and eventual re-birth that keeps my creative energy flowing and the surprises of artistic output alive.
